Juvéderm Facial Fillers in Cleveland, OH

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a smooth consistency gel dermal filler that restores the skin’s volume by smoothing away wrinkles and folds. It comes in two formulas: Juvéderm Ultra and Juvéderm Ultra Plus.

What does Juvéderm do?

Juvéderm temporarily adds volume to facial tissue, restoring a smoother appearance to the face.

What is Juvéderm indicated for?

Juvéderm injectable gels are indicated for injection into the deep dermis (below the outer layer of skin) for the correction of moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds.

Why does Juvéderm come in two formulas?

Juvéderm Ultra provides versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, whereas Juvéderm Ultra Plus is a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles. The two formulas allow us to best treat your needs with the proper formula.

What makes Juvéderm different from other dermal fillers?

Juvéderm injectable gel provides the highest concentrated cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any hyaluronic acid dermal filler available for long-lasting results. This provides a smooth, natural look and feel. Juvéderm is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in patients of all skin colors and tones.

How is Juvéderm injectable different from Botox Cosmetic?

Juvéderm injectable gel is the next generation of hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from the loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin. Juvéderm restores the skin’s volume for a smooth, natural look and feel, whereas Botox relaxes muscles without filling wrinkles and folds.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that helps to hydrate and add volume to the skin; it is found in all mammals. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has been used for decades to aid in movement for arthritic joints as well as for eye surgery and wound repair.

What is cross-linked hyaluronic acid?

Uncross-linked hyaluronic acid is liquid in its natural state. By cross-linking the acid, a gel product can be produced, which is able to be injected into the skin for long-lasting results.

How is Juvéderm injectable gel used in treatment?

Juvéderm is injected to temporarily fill-in and augment the treatment area, smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm temporarily adds volume to the skin, giving it a smoother surface appearance.

What will treatment with Juvéderm injectable gel accomplish?

You can expect the smoothing of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Most patients need only a single treatment to accomplish optimal smoothing, which lasts about six months.

Is treatment with Juvéderm injectable gel painful?

Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the procedure. The formula’s smooth consistency and the direct injection using a fine needle reduces injection discomfort. Numbed injection is an option to minimize discomfort.

How long does treatment usually take?

The injection process takes only about 15 minutes. You’ll also need time to consult with the doctor prior to injection.

What kind of doctor can provide treatment with Juvéderm injectable gel?

Any authorized healthcare professional can administer Juvéderm, though dermatologists, plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists, and other physicians specializing in cosmetic procedures are generally more experienced. One of these physicians can help you to decide if Juvéderm is right for you.

How long does the correction last?

Correction is temporary, with results lasting up to six months or longer. Touchup injections as well as repeat injections are usually needed to maintain optimal correction.

What are the possible side effects of Juvéderm injectable gel?

Most side effects are mild to moderate in nature, lasting seven days or less. The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary site injection reaction such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

Can people with different skin tones/colors be treated with Juvéderm?

Yes, in fact, Juvéderm injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness for a variety of skin tones. Studies with Juvéderm showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of a variety of skin colors and tones.
