FAQs About Radiesse

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a safe, non-generation cosmetic dermal filler used to correct facial lines and wrinkles. Years of rigorous clinical studies have concluded that Radiesse lasts longer than the former leading filler to safely fill and correct smile lines, nasolabial folds, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Radiesse is made of unique calcium-based Radiesse microsphere suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin. This minimally-invasive procedure delivers natural-looking results.

How does Radiesse work?

Radiesse works below the skin’s surface to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen to create a natural, full, youthful appearance. Rather than temporarily filling in facial lines and wrinkles, Radiesse rebuilds the skin’s foundation without any risks associated with permanent fillers.

Is Radiesse safe?

Yes, in fact throughout years of rigorous industry and independent research worldwide, Radiesse has been proven to be safe and effective. With Radiesse, you get safe, clinically tested, FDA-approved reliability. More than 250,000 patients have experienced Radiesse, and more than 4,000 physicians have been trained to provide treatments.

Is Radiesse right for me?

If you are noticing facial wrinkles, lines, and folds, then you may be an excellent candidate for Radiesse treatment.

Why fill in wrinkles with Radiesse?

Radiesse can be injected into your skin to compensate for diminishing facial volume, which causes lines, wrinkles, and folds. By using your body’s natural ability to grow collagen and regenerate tissue, Radiesse produces natural looking results for a fresh, rested, healthy appearance that still looks like you.

How is Radiesse treatment performed?

Radiesse treatment is performed with a minimally-invasive injection. This outpatient procedure is administered in the office with the use of a local anesthetic. Radiesse treatments have little to no downtime, with most patients returning to normal activities soon after treatment.

How soon can I expect results, and how long will they last?

The results are immediate, and continue to work with your body to stimulate new collagen and regenerate tissue. Results typically last a year or more, which is longer than the former leading cosmetic dermal filler, saving you time and money. Results vary, so be sure to discuss expectations with your doctor.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients will achieve their desired result after just one treatment. Since Radiesse is a long-term cosmetic enhancement, we may schedule a follow-up visit, where a touch-up treatment may be recommended.

How much does it cost?

Radiesse treatments are customized for each patient, so the price varies. Generally, the cost is comparable to similar procedures, and because of its long-lasting results, you will save time and money keeping your youthful, natural look. Consult with us for a recommendation to meet your desired outcome.

Are there any side effects?

Most side effects are mild to moderate in nature, resolving on their own in a day or two. The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, mild irritation, edema, swelling, itching, discoloration, or tenderness at the injection site. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

Could I have an allergic reaction to Radiesse?

Radiesse is biocompatible, making them virtually no risk for developing an allergic reaction. You do not need to undergo skin allergy testing, which is common in certain animal-based or permanent filler agents, prior to treatment. However, if you believe that you are having an allergic reaction to Radiesse, seek immediate medical attention.

Is Radiesse permanent?

No, although treatment results are relatively long-lasting. Over time, the tiny calcium-based microspheres gradually break down into basic calcium and phosphate ions, which are safely and naturally absorbed into the body, leaving your own collagen in their place.
